News from School Nurse

Hello Brooklin families,

We are noticing an increase of student and staff illness. Strep throat, Covid-19, Influenza A, and Norovirus seem to be making themselves known among all grade levels. This letter is to remind everyone what the protocols are in regards to illness.

  • Please do not send your student to school if they have symptoms of respiratory or gastrointestinal infections, such as cough, fever, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhea.. Students exhibiting symptoms of illness will be sent home.

  • Should your child test positive for strep throat they can return after being on antibiotics for 24 hours and fever free without fever reducing medications for 24 hours.

  • Should your child test positive for influenza or covid-19 they can return when they are 24 hours fever free without fever reducing medications and symptoms are improved.

  • Should your child have vomiting or diarrhea they can return 24 hours after symptoms have resolved.

Please email or call the school when your child is out sick so their absence can be excused and we can keep track of what illnesses are circulating.

We appreciate your help with keeping our school and community healthy!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
